This tutorial is very easy to practice may only take no more than 5 minutes for the controller.

1.Open photoshop CS 2, after it ... ... ..
2.Open file. Jpg as background, here, I use tattoo03.jpg

To use this image right click on the images and then save picture as ....

Create a new file (File>New) of 1280x1024 px and 72 dpi. Choose then the Rectangle Tool (U) to stretch out the rectangle on the whole working zone.

Write now the 0 cipher, following the next demands:

…and finally 9.

Place the ciphers we’ve got the same way indicated below, mark them out and move them in Photoshop.

Hide this layer temporary and write the word IRON MAN, keeping the next demonstrated demands:

Select a brush with blurred edges on a new layer and try to draw several patches on the picture. They should have different colors – 5C0003 and 160F2B.

Set Overlay on the layers.

Draw on a new layer several yellow patches and select the option Filter\ Liquify to make everything look like in the picture (the colors should be blurred out with SmudgeTools(R)) and unnecessary elements may be erased with the usual instrument.

Fill 80% on the layers and set Linear Burn on the layers.

Text Effect : Grunge Rubber Stamp

Grunge Rubber Stamp

Lets face it - rubber stamps are an amazingly quick and easy way of marking something in real life, but recreating them in Photoshop is a little more difficult. Unlike real media, the electronic canvas does not have creases, folds, and underlying texture to distort the ink. Neither does an electronic stamp have problems with ink adherence, creating a unique effect every time it is used. That is not to say, of course, that Photoshop cannot reproduce these little nuances of real media. The aim of this tutorial is to describe a simple method to create grunge brushes, and to detail how these brushes can be used to reproduce realism in our rubber-stamped logos. Interested? Read on...

Step 1: Open up a stock image in Photoshop of any size and/or format. The best results for this tutorial usually involve large photographic images with effective color separation. Since the overall grunge effect will come out of this source image, it is best to select a photo with lots of vertical lines and straight edges going off at different angles. Rounded objects (especially 'natural' objects) do not work very well. From personal experience I can say that construction-yard pictures are ideal... although you may still need to experiment a little to obtain the optimal results.

Step 2: Ensure your background layer is selected in the layers palette, and prepare to vastly overexpose the contrast by selecting Image > Adjustments > Threshold from the main menu. A dialog box should pop up. Drag the slider nearly all the way to the left, leaving only the most prominent lines and details present. When you are finished, press the OK button to finalize your changes.

Step 3: Open up a new blank document (via File > New) of any size with a single white-filled background layer. Click on the foreground color swatch at the bottom of the tools palette and set it to red. Step 5: This stage is entirely optional, but I find that it often helps to give the logo a little skew via Edit > Transform > Rotate. Logos at perfect right-angles to the canvas look fake and ruin the illusion of real media that are are trying to create.

Step 6: Go back to your original photo document that you created in steps 1 & 2. Switch to the The Magic Wand tool selects similarly colored areas.'); Activate();" onmouseout="deActivate()" alt="">Magic Wand Tool and click directly inside a black-color area of your photo. Expand your selection to all black areas via Select > Similar. Now that you have all the black areas selected, its time to Edit > Copy and Edit > Paste them over to your logo document that you made in step 3. The 'grunge' layer should automatically go to the top of the layers palette.

Step 7: Hold down CTRL on the keyboard (OPT if you are using a mac) and click on the grunge layer's thumbnail in the layers palette with your mouse to reselect the grunge object. Then, without losing your selection, make the logo layer active and press DELETE on your keyboard. Now all you have to do is lose your selection, hide/delete your grunge layer... and its done! All quite simple really!

Text Effect with Photoshop : RADIATION

STEP 1

Start a new image and add your text, assuming white text on black background. Center the text and make sure you have a decent margine around it for the rays to go.

STEP 2

With the lower, white text layer selected, apply a Polar Coordinate conversion. Go to Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates... Accept that the layer will be rasterized. Set it to convert from Polar to Rectangular.

STEP 4

Since we want rays of light, we can achieve this effect with Wind. But because Wind only goes side to side, we need to rotate our canvas. Go to Image>Rotate Canvas>90 CW.

STEP 4

Apply Filter>Stylize>Wind..., Method Wind, Direction From the Right. Apply it again, in the other direction. Rotate back like in step 3 and apply the Wind filter again in each direction.

STEP 5

Apply Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates... and convert from Rectangular to Polar.

STEP 6

Add a color balance adjustment layer (Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Color Balance...) and adjust to emphasize green.

And there you have it, the final version is easily cropped out. You may want to try blurring the layer a little, though I like the sharp rays in this case.

How to Create a Magma Mountain

This tutorial will show you how to turn a lovely waterfall into a deadly one with magma effect. We will make it look real and natural, read on to find out how

Step 1: The Image

You can look for a waterfall image somewhere or save the image below

First we should enhance the colors of this image a bit

Press Ctrl-J to duplicate this image then go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and set a small value of 0.5 pixels and change the blending mode of this layer to Overlay. Now it looks more impressive!

Step 2: Add the Moon to the sky

Download this image or get another elsewhere

Paste it on your document and change its blending mode to Screen and move it to the top of the mountain. Resize it if necessary

Step 3: Use the Eraser Tool with a soft brush to erase the bottom of the moon to make a "behind" effect

Step 4: Adjust the moon's color by going to Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation (Ctrl-U) and use these settings:

Our moon will turn out blue and blend better with the sky

Step 5: Turn this normal waterfall into a deadly one

Look for an image with some fire on it like this one:

Put it on your document and change its blending mode to Overlay to apply its colors to the mountain

Step 6: Add a layer mask to this layer by going to Layer>Layer Mask>Reveal All. Press D to change your foreground color to black and use a soft brush to fill the sky to hide the effect of this layer on it, make it brighter

Step 7: The last step is to turn water into magma. I found an image whose sky looks like magma

Select a small part of it like the image above and paste it on your document. Use the Transformation Tool Edit>Transform>Rotate to rotate it 90^o

Change its blending mode to Overlay

Step 8: Add a layer mask like we did as step 6 and fill mountain and sky areas with black to hide the effect of this layer on them. Now we have a great result!

I added some "black birds" to make it more impressive

3D Effects

Announcing the first tutorial of a new series!
Together, with a pinch of this and a dash of that, we’ll figure out how to create this cool effect in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients:
1 normal, everyday Photoshop
1 set of real 3D text.
1 large black canvas (1600×1200px)

Step 1: First, we’ll need something written in 3D. We have two possible variations:

If you prefer a bit of Mac spice, use the command “Extrude and Bevel” in illustrator. This tutorial from PSDUTS may help you through it.

If you swing more toward a Windows flavor, Xara3D is another. If you don’t have Xara 3D, have no fear. We always come prepared: click on the thumbnail below to download a sample.

Step 2: Place the 3D text and rename it as “3D Text”. Then, with the Magic Wand Tool select the face of the letters and cut that part as you can see from the screnshoots below.

Step 3: With me so far? Now comes the fun part. Make two copies of this layer, one for backup (”3D Text Copy”) and another one (”3D Text Blur”). Set the backup copy aside to cool for a bit (aka, Hide). Leave the other two layers (“3D Text” and “3D Text Blur”) on the fire and easily accessible. Turn down the heat a bit on “3D Text Blur”; let it simmer for a while and come back to it later.

Step 4: Next, create a new layer group, rename it “Effects”, and change the blending option of this group to “Color Dodge”. Now, being careful not to disturb the other layers, reach inside this new layer group and, with a flick of the wrist, create a new layer, applying the filter “Clouds” (Filter -> Render -> Clouds) to give it that nice, puffy consistency that we’ve all come to know and love.

Step 5: Dropping just below that group in your palette, create another group, this one named “Colors”. Remember that little wrist-flick technique from Step 4? Didn’t get it quite to your satisfaction the first time? Well, we’re going to give it a go again. As before, within this new group you’ll need to create a new layer; add a sprinkle of pink, and with the gradient tool (in Radial Mode) draw a soft edge glow. After that, set the layer blending mode to the “Low” mixer setting, or “Soft Light”.

At this point, you might see a strange pink cloud, but don’t worry. All part of the plan.

Step 6: Repeat the previous step with two other bright colors, but placed differently.

Step 7: Now, for the “secret ingredient.”
Do you remember the “3D Text Blur” we set aside way back in Step 3?
Well, it’s been simmering long enough! Select it now and apply a Gaussian Blur of 13 pixel radius (Filter -> Blur -> Gaussian Blur)

Step 8: Now the creative part. Add a new layer in the “Effects” group, immediately above the “Clouds”. Download a cool brush from DeviantArt and use white to trace around the inside face of each the letters.

Step 9: Still with me? We’re almost there! Carefully slide yet another new layer between the two groups (“Effects” and “Clouds”).
Reach for your trusty Gradient Tool (this time in Linear Mode), choose White and, holding down the Shift key, drag the Gradient tool from the outside edges of the canvas to the middle of the image.
Set your blending mode to “Saturation” and see what happens…

Step 10: Ready for another layer? We’ll need a new one in the “Effects” group; name it “Abstract Lights”.

Step 11: Then ctrl-click (command-click for you Mac lovers) the “3D Text” layer icon in the layer’s palette and paint inside the new selection with a custom abstract brush as we did in Step 8 (remember, use WHITE).

Step 12: You’ve made it. The final step. The icing on all of these layers. Create…one…last…layer above the “White” layer we just did.

Use a nice LARGE custom brush, like this, and draw a single Cloud above the text. Apply a Motion Blur (Filter -> Blur -> Motion Blur) with an Angle of “-11? and a distance of “200? pixels.
Change the Opacity to “30%” and apply a gradient overlay with the following settings:

Voila!

There you have it. A quick, easy way to spruce up any old 3D text into something to set anyone’s mouth watering. Serve hot or cold to your friends, and watch ‘em drool…

Enjoy!

For a bit of a twist—if you’re feeling a bit adventurous–above all the layers, try new custom brushes (like smoke) and repeat the last step to apply cool lights. Experimenting can be fun!

20 Photoshop Secrets Revealed

Every graphic designer works with secrets shortcuts or tricks that should never be told, like a magician

But…as always, i have no secrets with you so here you have 20 tricks save-time.
Have fun and if you want…share in the comments other tips!

1) If you hold down ALT+CTRL+SHIFT (Mac: CMD+OPT+SHIFT) while starting Photoshop you can reset all the Photoshop settings back to factory default. Very usefull if you have problems with some tools or the interface.

2) One of my favorites. ALT+Click on the “eye” icon in the layer’s palette to hide all other layers.

3) Do you have trouble to find the cursor when you work with large canvases?
Simply press the spacebar and you’ll see the hand icon where the cursor is located.

4) When you are applying a “drop shadow” layer effect, try to leave open the dialog box.
You’ll be able to move the shadow with a simple drag and drop.

5) With a CTRL+Click on the triangle icon you can collapse or expand all layer groups

6) Another cool shortcut. Press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+E
(Mac: CMD+OPT+SHIFT+E) to paste all the visible layers in a new one.

7) When you are in a dialog box, try to hold ALT(Mac: OPT) to transform the “cancel” button into a “reset” button. It doesnt work everywhere.

8) If you want to transform a path into a selection you have to press CTRL+ENTER (Mac: CMD-ENTER).
